TOPIC:  Bones….

Mom gave me a BOB (big ole bone) to chew on today.  I have to admit it kept me busy for about 2 hours.  The cat tried to nose in, but my growling let it know it was a horrible idea (my growling practice has paid off!).  Afterwards I did the obligatory burying in the back yard.  Sometimes dad yells at me for such excavation, but I say he needs to get off his butt and spend more time on lawn care.

TOPIC:  Short Week…

You have to love the long weekend which translates into a short work week.  Ever notice how one of the primary goals in life for the working stiff is to finally quit working?  Once you quit working you end up with a lot of free time, like us dawgs.  Once you have a lot of free time you have to find a hobby.  My suggestion is to take up chasing cats, squirrels and other despicable rodents.

Sheriff's Job...

The local sheriff was looking for a deputy, so Todd—who was not exactly the sharpest nail in the bucket—went in to try out for the job.

"Okay," the sheriff began, "Todd, what is 1 and 1?"

"Eleven," he replied.

The sheriff thought, "That's not what I meant, but he's right."

"What two days of the week start with the letter T?"

"Today and tomorrow."

The sheriff was again surprised that Todd had supplied a correct answer that he had never thought of himself.

"Now, Todd, listen carefully: Who killed Abraham Lincoln?"

Todd looked a little surprised, thought really hard for a minute, and finally admitted, "I don't know."

"Well, why don't you go home and work on that one for a while?"

So Todd wandered over to the barbershop, where his pals were waiting to hear the results of the interview.

Todd was exultant: "It went great!  First day on the job, and I'm already working on a murder case!"
