TOPIC:  Mittens Tragedy…

Posted:  12/6/2017, 4:49 a.m. EST

The Mitten Tree is about a lady named Sarah that happens to be very lonely because all her children are grown and out of the house.  Every day she watches the children gathering at the school bus stop outside her window.  On one cold December day she notices that one little boy has no mittens.  That night, she knits the boy a pair of cozy mittens and places them on a blue spruce tree located near the bus stop for him to discover.  It soon becomes a game, with the children looking to find new mittens on the tree.  Sadly, one day the tree fell over and crushed Sarah while she was hanging mittens on the tree.  The moral to this story is to use lightweight yarn when knitting mittens and have someone else hang them on the tree.  Don't be stupid.  Take on the day.

Three Little Kittens...

The cat and her kittens

They put on their mittens,

To eat a Christmas pie.

The poor little kittens

They lost their mittens,

And then they began to cry.

"O mother dear, we sadly fear

We cannot go to-day,

For we have lost our mittens."

"If it be so, ye shall not go,

For ye are naughty kittens."

OUR STATE IS LITERALLY SHAPED LIKE A PIECE OF WINTER APPAREL."
