TOPIC:  Fire Prevention

I'm for fire prevention as much as the next dawg, maybe even more than your average pooch. But I have to admit that there's not much anything better than peeing on a fire hydrant. Dad says that people need hydrants if they fail to practice proper fire prevention. All I know is that I really love these cast iron wonders. The only thing that confuses me is how they get all the water inside. Water and fire hydrants, what a concept.

... Fireman ...

How many firemen does it take to change a light bulb?

Four. One to change the bulb and 3 to chop a hole in the roof.

... Smoke Detectors ...

Government studies show that two-thirds of fire-related deaths

occur in homes without smoke detectors.

And, in those deaths, fire isn't usually the cause; smoke is.

Without smoke detectors, a fire's toxic gases can kill sleeping victims

before they ever have a chance to wake up.

Smoke detectors should be installed at ceiling level in every bedroom,

as well as outside every sleeping area and on every level of the house.

Remember, smoke detectors don't work if the batteries are dead.

Use daylight saving time changes to remind you to change the batteries.
